Will Magarity is the visionary founder of Val Collective, an award-winning luxury design and build firm based in Hickory, North Carolina. A licensed real estate agent, Will launched Val Collective in partnership with his wife, Dani, to bring a sophisticated, European-inspired approach to the U.S. design and build industry. Guided by a lifelong passion for architecture and real estate that he cultivated alongside a professional basketball career, Will's journey reflects both discipline and innovation.

A native of Sweden, Will attended Boston College and earned his degree from Davidson College, balancing a rigorous academic schedule with his role as a full-time athlete. His multicultural background infuses Val Collective's projects with Scandinavian values of quality, functionality, and timeless design. Having played basketball professionally across Europe in top leagues like the ACB, ABA, and EuroCup, as well as having the honor to represent Sweden as a National Team player, Will developed a relentless work ethic and a talent for team-building, skills that have proven essential in both his entrepreneurial and leadership roles.

What sets Val Collective apart is its dual expertise as both a design studio and a licensed general contractor, enabling a seamless experience for clients from concept to completion. Drawing on the European aesthetics and principles absorbed from his years abroad, Will creates spaces that blend luxury and practicality, emphasizing high-end craftsmanship and sustainable value. This approach has won the firm national recognition, including the prestigious title of "National Contractor of the Year" in 2024.

Beyond design, Will is passionate about real estate investment, with a particular interest in maximizing profitability and long-term value in residential projects. He integrates these insights into Val Collective’s ethos, aiming to create homes that resonate with both beauty and financial sensibility.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Will is actively involved in the TEDx community, sharing his enthusiasm for ideas that inspire change. A lover of travel, culinary experiences, and Spanish wines, Will’s appreciation for culture complements his business acumen, shaping an approach to life and work that is as refined as it is ambitious. He and Dani aspire to expand Val Collective’s impact both nationally and internationally, all while splitting their time between the U.S. and Sweden—staying connected to the places that have shaped their journey.
