Tracy Hall is a visionary leader and passionate community advocate with over 37 years of experience dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families through education, innovation, and public service. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Catawba Science Center in Hickory, North Carolina, where she has led the organization for more than six years with a mission-driven focus on STEM education, community collaboration, and inclusive access to hands-on learning. Tracy moved to California in high school and later earned her Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Administration from California State University, Chico. Her professional journey has spanned both the West and East Coasts, blending a strong foundation in community programming with a deep commitment to educational equity. Prior to joining the Catawba Science Center, Tracy held influential roles with Hickory Public Schools, Catawba Valley Community College, and the North Carolina Zoological Park—each post reflecting her dedication to foster curiosity, discovery, and exciting experiences for people of all ages.

Throughout her career, Tracy has cultivated an impressive portfolio of collaborative initiatives that bridge education, workforce development, and civic engagement. Under her leadership, the Catawba Science Center has expanded its regional impact, strengthened its partnerships with local schools and organizations, and introduced innovative programs that connect youth with real-world scientific exploration and career pathways.

Tracy’s commitment to service extends well beyond her day-to-day responsibilities. She actively serves on a variety boards and advisory councils, including the STEM West Advisory Board, Foothills Kids Magazine Board, and previously the TEDxHickory team. She served on the North Carolina Certified Work Ready Communities team and was honored to be chosen as a delegate for the NC Global Leaders to Germany program, where she helped explore international strategies in education and economic development.
