Incoming Intern - Head of Accounting & Finance

Deacon is an accounting and finance student at Lenoir-Rhyne University here in Hickory, bringing an organized, numbers-driven perspective to the TEDxCatawba team. With aspirations of becoming a CPA, he’s focused on building a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning, skills he applies directly through his work supporting the event’s financial coordination and behind-the-scenes operations. Deacon is also working toward his MBA, expanding his business knowledge and sharpening his ability to connect financial details to bigger-picture goals. Outside the classroom, he competes on Lenoir-Rhyne’s men’s lacrosse team, where he’s learned the value of discipline, preparation, and teamwork, qualities he carries into every project he takes on. Through TEDxCatawba, he’s excited to contribute to an experience that elevates ideas, strengthens community connections, and creates meaningful impact.
